Our girl had a quiet day. The therapists reported her responses were at best 50/50 today. Although, PT did see her fingers on the left hand move and she was deliberately re-positioning her right leg when Natalie was trying to stretch out her hip! Natalie better be careful, Corey’s trying to aim. Her very first kick was at Natalie!
I brought in the Chef’s recommended assortment of spices; Cilantro, Rosemary, Basil, Thyme, Vanilla and Cinnamon. Corey had her head facing the right (her typical position). When she smelled the cinnamon, she took a deep breath, closed her eyes and re-positioned her head to center. She had a similar reaction to Rosemary and Vanilla. I’m not sure how the speech therapists plan on using the spices, but her initial reaction brought a smile to my face!
We’d like to share some fun news. Corey received an important call! Her cousin Kerri announced that she and her “fiancé” Brendan are officially engaged. (Tom and Marjy’s daughter). She wanted Corey to know that the wedding will most likely be in 2012. This should give Corey plenty of time to gain her strength and continue to practice her high kicks so she can be dancing at another Palamara wedding!
Corey, now you have a goal, keep moving those legs…and don’t forget you’ll need a new dress and shoes for the wedding too. Triple the incentive! Sleep well honey. I hope you’re having Happy Dreams of all the fun we’ll have, xoxo
