Hi Everyone,

What a great night! I am overwhelmed, impressed and incredibly proud of the kids that planned this event. The concert was held at our local town park. The bands set up under an open air atrium. More than 30 of Corey’s friends performed; Soloists, pianists and full ensembles performed original arrangements as well as some classic “covers”.

The kids had door prizes, gift baskets and a 50/50 raffle. There was pizza, hot dogs, beverages and baked goods included in the price of admission. Corey would have loved it. We hung the poster size senior portrait of her on the stage…she was there in spirit.

The event generated the funding we need to purchase the exercise matte (not covered by insurance) for her PT and OT at the house. I had an opportunity to publicly thank everyone for supporting this event. It was so successful that many of the parents and kids want to make this the “1st Annual Care for Corey Concert” and repeat it next year. I assured everyone that Corey will be working hard with her therapies so next year she can join us for the 2nd annual concert and hopefully rock it with her friends. It’s a goal worth working towards.

Tomorrow is Mother’s Day. I will be spending the morning and afternoon with Corey at the hospital and then run into Philly to have dinner with the older kids. The day will be different but ultimately it doesn’t matter where we are, as long as we’re together that’s all that matters to me. I feel so lucky to have my kids…especially the adopted crew that shared so much of themselves today! You guys have given the greatest gift I could have ever hoped for…your friendship. XOXO
