Hi Everyone,

I can remember my mother offering words of encouragement and dismissing the accolades “because she had to say those things ~ she’s my mother”. I’d like to thank each and every one of you for your words of encouragement.

Corey didn’t have early morning therapy with Diane on vacation. She woke up a bit grumpy so we took advantage of our alone time and read the carepage responses from yesterday’s entry. She loved listening to the letters from all of you and actually turned to me and said, “More”…so I continued rereading the list of past responses. She was smiling, waving to the names she recognized and when I was finished she looked at me and said; “good”. I asked Corey, ‘if you could write a letter to everyone what would you say’.

She wrote;
Hi, I love you. Thanks for the letters. They make me feel happy. Love Corey

Your words of encouragement were just what she needed to hear this morning. She was happy and excited to get ready for her PT session with Gillian. Corey had a very good session. She began with stretching and wanted to forego Volleyball and get right to walking. We were fortunate to have Shelly visit us this afternoon and especially grateful she was our camera woman. She captured each step. We invite you to watch Corey’s latest steps on YouTube.

This afternoon she had her second favorite therapy; cooking. Today’s recipe was Honey Orange Baked Chicken with rice pilaf and string beans. This recipe helped Corey with sequencing. She also had a great time mincing the spices rosemary, thyme and marjoram in the pestle and mortar. Brittany and our nurse commented that they both learned several new tips today during our session. I think Corey could start a reality cooking class. Maybe we’ll call it ~ Bon Appetite ~ Julia Child would be proud of her!

Enjoy the videos. We look forward to reading your responses tomorrow! xoxo
