Hi Everyone,

Tonight Corinne met Maureen (my evil twin). At one point Corey was completely enraged, kicking, pulling her hair and screaming; “I want to go home”. Maureen looked up at the tile ceiling and screamed, “I want roasted vegetables because the food stinks here”! She was disarmed by my outburst and laughed out loud. The conversation continued discussing the “wishes” we wanted instead of the reality of what we have. Corey and I laughed at the silliness of our conversation. We are in the home stretch for the removal of her “shoes” and we’re closer to our going home.

We are not sure what next week will bring. Tuesday morning the casts come off and the team meets. We’re not sure what will replace the casts; braces or boots, but I’m sure it will be better than what Corey is currently coping with. (If they don’t come off or if they are replaced with “new shoes” don’t bother posting any comments, just send someone immediately to put me IN a straight jacket!)

Corey continues to make progress so we are hoping that the team report sent to Insurance will approve one more week or at least 3-4 days more so we can work with the Bryn Mawr therapists. She will also have an opportunity to work with Carlo Coco of Coco Enterprises. Carlo is the man that designs and fits Corey’s high-tops and braces that will maintain the form and function of her feet; the reason for the surgery. We are anxious to see what she can do without the casts and there is no better place to do that than with the experts here.

We are going through a very difficult time. Please keep praying for patience, creativity, guidance and maintaining our sense of humor…and anything else you want to through in…we need all the help we can get right now! xoxo
