Hi Everyone,

I want to thank each of you for following our carepage. I’d also like to thank you for passing our story forward to your circle of friends. Today I received a letter in the mail from the friend of a friend of a friend…none of whom I’ve ever met personally but our carepage has connected us.

Our new friend sent us a letter of gratitude. Corey’s story has inspired them during an extremely challenging time of their life but her strength, attitude and courage has given them the “never give up, never give in” “matter of time” perspective they needed to live their new normal.

Enclosed in the note was The Parable of the Pencil. I read this a few years ago and believe it is worth sharing again.

The Parable of the Pencil – author unknown

The pencil maker took the pencil aside just before putting him into the box. There are 5 things you need to know before I send you out into the world. Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best pencil you can be.

1. You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in someones hand.
2. You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but you’ll need it to become a better pencil.
3. You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make.
4. The most important part of you will always be what’s inside.
5. On every surface you are used on, you must leave your mark. No matter what the condition, you must continue to write.

The pencil understood and promised to remember and went into the box with purpose in its heart

Now replace the pencil with you, as you go out to live each day;

1. You will be able to do many great things but only if you allow yourself to be held in Gods hand and allow other human beings to access you for the many gifts you possess.
2. You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time by going through various problems, but you’ll need to in order to become a stronger person.
3. You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make.
4. The most important part of you will always be what’s inside.
5. On every surface you walk through, you must leave your mark. No matter what the situation, you must continue to do your duties.

By understanding and remembering, let us proceed with our life on this earth having a meaningful purpose in our heart.

Allow this parable of the pencil to encourage you to know that you are a special person and only you can fulfill the purpose to which you were born to accomplish. Never allow yourself to get discouraged and think that your life is insignificant and cannot make a change.

Thank you friend, xoxo
